Been riding this 1 year-round for the past 4 years..... This is my current full-time ride...... Had this since '96.....ONLY truck I'll ever own. ...... Transplanted this into it 3 years ago ...... Va Mud Dauber Posted April 1, 2009 Author Share Posted April 1, 2009 Hey YamaHead, Nice rides! That truck looks like a true sleeper. I bet you have a blast with that! A Bug for a first car is very wise, easy to work on and much safer than a sports car. The reason I say that is because one of the town locals bought his kid a 350Z and then acted surprised when his son totaled it and lost his life. Very sad but that's what happens when parents give their kids what they want and not what they need. I'm not saying that it cant happen in any car but personally I think it was a bad decision on the fathers part. About my Chevelle; when I was much younger, I had two 66's and I used to see this 67 around Hopewell ( a near by town ) it was a true little old lady's car. I kicked myself for years for selling my 66's and then when a buddy of mine spotted the 67 for sale, I jumped on it. Less than 50,000 miles and everything is there, all original. The only thing I have replaced is the water pump, it didn't need it but I did it as a precaution. Of course I still have the original being stored in a bucket of anti-freeze. I did the normal tune up stuff but none of that was original anyway I haven't decided if I should keep it all original or do a resto-mod. So for right now it is just being enjoyed as is. My third car was a 72 Super Beetle. Had a blast with it for years but it was a little on the cold side riding in the winter but I didn't care much because I was riding when most of my friends were bumming rides. It's like a fine piece of art, It's not just what you see on the canvas, it's what comes to mind as you look at it. When I see any show car, I look at it and say, yeah that's nice. Then I think about what else can be done; nothing they are finished with it.Then the excitement fades away,but when I look at that old convertible truck of yours it leaves me thinking about it for hours. Man , I'm as excited for you as if it was my own. I had a few minutes earlier today to get on here and I just had to look and see what else had been posted. I haven't stopped thinking about it yet, just like that sleeper of YamaHeads. wild foamy, Never let a thing like age get in the way of anything that you really want! I say, if you see something that you can afford to buy, just do it. Don't ever let anything put a time limit on making any dream come true. You may find out one day that you are running out of time and then you may have missed out on a dream. Never let that happen in your life! Find one and just work on it now and then. Then when your ready to take that first ride, it will be one of the most exciting moments in your life. Man, I can hardly wait to see what is posted next! Later friends! Well, that is a Ford "A" 1928 , and i ´ll try to find a picture of the Ford T 1925.All this cars belong to my father.There is also a Ford Deluxe 1938 8 cylinders , a Rambler Classic 1965, a Mercedes 170 SD 1954 Black Ant , and the Chevrolet pick-up 1960 you see in the picture.The turquoise car is a Renault 6 1976, and behind it, is the Jeep Kaiser 1967,with the strong Hurricane engine , that did not reach Viet Nam, and came to the argentine army.Ah, also 2 tractors : a Brown 1958 and a Mc Cormick 1960.Except for the Chevrolet, my father does not pay them any attention.They are almost abandoned.The only thing that keeps them alive, is the incredible material which they are made of. My father always says that they ought to put away all the statues of the argentine procers, and put a Ford A in their place. But now, he is too old ,and does not have the strenght nor the money to fix them.And i am not in good terms with him, so i can not help the situation. Well, enough for today.
