drprunty Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 78 xs400. I possibly have a starter solenoid/relay prob. With it hooked up I push the the starter button and I get nothing, not even a click. Fuses are good and battery is charged. I have power to the solenoid/relay (blue/wht....red/wht. ) I can cross the main terminals with a screwdriver and the motor turns over. Call me stupid, but would this a defective solenoid/relay? However, as said above, the starter switches have a tendancy to stop making a good connection, especially if water has gotten inside and corroded the terminals.
