Posted March 10, 200915 yr This has probably been covered before, but a trawl of the site didn't show anything immediately (instant coffee isn't fast enough today). I have a 2005 FZ6 Naked and all has been well until this morning. It stood for about 2 weeks whilst i was on holiday and at the weekend I cleaned it, checked oil water & tyres etc replacing the rear bulb which had mysteriously gone after last parking up. After cleaning, I ran the bike to ensure that everything was still OK then put it to bed!! This morning I pulled the bike out the garage and the battery was as flat as a pancake, whilct I can deal with this anyone any thoughts as to why ion the course of 2 days it goes from starting first time to being flat? I know that this sounds a simple issue, but I've been cursed with flat batteries in the past and push starting does not appeal and not knowing whether the bike is going to start or not sort of takes the edge of going to your bike to ride home or to work. Thanks.
March 10, 200915 yr Firstly have you got an alarm on it if so this could cause your problem. Second the weather being as it is one min cold next wet and so on. My humble opinion is put it on a trickle charge if you havent got one invest in one is saves time and defo saves energy (ie you trying to bump start it )

I have an accumate and that is on now. Just wondered if there was a known problem. Thanks.
March 11, 200915 yr If you have a Datatool alarm, that'll be your problem. Evil pieces of devil spawn that seriously bagel up batteries.

Ran it today after charging full, came home and battery took 2 hours to recharge so could be battery is shot. Ride to work and back is only 20 miles.
