ally tonks
Just had a laugh with Bennetts (it's all about the bike!) Insurance whilst trying to insure and old V75a. I know not very glamorous but thought it would be easy to insure as they are a "bike" specialist, but how wrong was I! They have earlier and later models but not mine, guy went off to the underwriters for a couple of minutes and came back and asked if it was blue or red? It's neither, it's orange (very 70's) and ok well we can't insure it. Granted, orange is not the best colour but surely that's colourist? There should be a law against that?!! Does anybody know a bike friendly insurer out there? Ally ps bet the dutch will be pissed.......

ally tonks
OMG The saga continues. The excuses coming out cracks me up, I had a 1000 exup that was cheaper, same house etc. etc. It's because it's not blue, because it's parked in the garden, because it's not tagged.......... Because it's not listed (V50 yes, V80 yes, V90 yes) they just ramp up the prices. In the end managed to get CIA (I wonder if the THE CIA) to do it on a classic policy with 50 excess and free breakdown for less than half that of the others AND they weren't bothered by the spangly 70's colour!! I worn out now, gonna lie down in a dark room later ps devitts didn't have a listing either, thanks for the input though guys

I have the XJ900 and 2 FS1's for just less than a ton all in I would guess a blade, that must belong to an inferior brand, so insurance for machines could be expensive coo stick with the Yam stuff not this oddball Honda kit ! steve m
Just had a laugh with Bennetts (it's all about the bike!) Insurance whilst trying to insure and old V75a. I know not very glamorous but thought it would be easy to insure as they are a "bike" specialist, but how wrong was I! Tried to insure the wifes 2003 Fazer 600 with Bennetts, "does it have any mods sir", yep says I, and list the mods to the bike, nothing to drastic, just the usual, slip on can, db screen, hugger, belly pan,s/s brake lines, wavey discs,, "sorry sir can i stop you there, thats more than 3 mods", yes says I, "sorry we can`t insure the bike then, we only allow 3 mods" what the Fock!! you are supposed to be " THE bike specialists" !! "yes we are sir, but we only allow 3 mods" So there you are, if you are insured with Bennetts and your bike is moded, you probabley arn`t insured !! The Bike Ended up using Swinton,, fully comp, £83 !!!!!!
