February 17, 200916 yr Author The plan is to replace the swingarm with a TZR250 swingarm, and get the frame and swingarm powder coated in satin black. Replace the tank with a YZF600r tank, R6 rear end, R1 forks, Satin gold wheels, yolks etc... twin exhaust unit instead of 4 to 1. YZF600r or FZR600 engine with gold casings and pro bolts, Gold braided hoses and calipers, gold wavey discs, new gold chain and sfinal drive sprocket. remove rear sets and use R6 race hump, new grips (old ones slightly fubard! lol) And hopefully!! the R6 race fairing (I STRESS HOPEFULLY) DREADING THAT MAMMOTH TASK!. all items marked in bold is what im after, so if you have summat and wanna sell, then gimme a shout

For parts, I can recommend www.r6parts.com The guys there are friendly, reasonably priced too. They'll have quite a few of the bits you need. Hope this helps. Or I know of a great bike breakers local to me, PM me if I can be of any help sourcing parts there. Vic.
February 19, 200916 yr Author www.r6parts.com there is a drop down option for fzr400, does this mean R6 parts that will fit the fzr or just purely fzr400 parts?
February 19, 200916 yr Author OFF TO THE POWDER COATERS WE GO!!! Frame, subframe, Swingarm = Satin black Yolks, Ankle guards, Clip ons, Wheels = Satin Gold And all for grand old price of £125 :P Ill get pics up after i clean down and remove tyres, then a pic of completed coating (decided against the tzr250 swingarm, as i dont want to change the handling in any way however small)
February 19, 200916 yr there is a drop down option for fzr400, does this mean R6 parts that will fit the fzr or just purely fzr400 parts? I'm not certain, email them and ask. I found them to be very helpful and reasonably quick to respond
February 23, 200916 yr Author Well after a cock up with the powder coating compnay deciding to try and charge me double what they quoted!! I have take a trip to good old halfords and purchased: Degreaser Fine sandpaper 2 satin black rattle cans 1 satin gold rattle can 2 enamel clear coat laquer rattle cans Fiberglass repair kit Hammerite rust remover Lets see what i can do with this lot lol
February 23, 200916 yr Silly question - Is it hard to strip bike right down to that extent? I'd love to get swing arm powder coated or painted to tidy it up, but am bit wary of f*cking something up during disassembly or rebuild! I'm not totally kack handed, have decent skills, not afraid of getting hands dirty either - but still don't wanna balls up parts unnecessarily.
February 23, 200916 yr Author to remove the swingarm has gotta be one of the easiest jobs to do lol. Just get some axle stands for the bike to hold it up so your engine aint sat on the deck! Remove rear wheel, dis-engage rear shock from frame or swingarm, then undo swingarm spindle, and she'll pop right out

Remove rear wheel, dis-engage rear shock from frame or swingarm, then undo swingarm spindle, and she'll pop right out Ok, thanks. Have found a local breakers who has lots of great stock, including R6 tail units, fibreglass streetfighter units etc. Just need to save the pennies (and get sufficient brownie points from the wife!! )
February 24, 200915 yr Hiya mate, if you're still after an engine I've seen a frame, engine and subframe for a 600 on flea bay (item number 110355669685), I'm not sure if it's any interest or even close to you but thought let you know anyway
February 24, 200915 yr Author HAD ENOUGH! NOW FOR SALE! £250 WILL TAKE IT AWAY!! OR SWAP WHY NOPE, CHANGED MY MIND ding ding, round two!
February 24, 200915 yr HAD ENOUGH! NOW FOR SALE! £250 WILL TAKE IT AWAY!! Oh Dear, doesn't sound good. What happened, you seemed so enthusiatic about the project?
February 24, 200915 yr Author Just spent hours on the frame only for it to keep chipping lol. Ill remove it from sale and crack on again. Think ill just have to coat the frame mega thick lol and use vast amounts of laquer!! I basically just threw a wobbly lol
