TrickysTrike
Is it possible to replace the oil sight glass on an xj900F ?
The Beginner
I have absolutely no idea, but as a suggestion, if the glass is on the reservoir then maybe just a replacement reservoir?
PICTURE_MAN36
Hello. I don't know this engine well, but if its a derivative of what I have in my FZR600 I don't think so. I have a similar problem with the sight glass on my engine; the sight glass appears to be stained or discoloured which makes it very difficult to read the oil level properly. If your's is like mine, it seems that its pressed into the right hand side casing when the casing was manufactured, and its not removable. Cheers
Moderator Airhead Posted January 29, 2009 Moderator Share Posted January 29, 2009 Next time you do an oil change, get yourself a spare gasket and remove the case, then use some T - Cut on the glass to clean it
