I haven't used my 2000 Fazer 600 for several weeks. There is some juice in the battery, but I'm getting a loud buzzing sound from around the fuse box/battery area when I press the start button. Any ideas what they might be and what I need to do? My owners manual is in storage as we've just moved house - I assumed it was a 6volt system but I see other postings talking about 12volt - can you enlighten me? Thanks in advance

Firstly, your battery is knackered by the sound of it. While it may have the correct voltage reading, it doesn't always follow that it will be able to provide enough current (Amps) to start the engine.

Secondly, ALL mainstream bikes made in the last twenty plus years run a 12v system.

Thanks - sad isn't it not even knowing what voltage the bloody thing is? I've done 35,000 miles commuting on this bike over the last 4 years and its been so reliable I haven't had to touch it once. Just have it serviced once a year. My last bike was a BSA Starfire when I was a student back in the 70's so I've missed out on a bit of development! I'll give it a charge at 12 volts and see if that helps.
