Yamaha offered many different final drive ratio's. Counter shaft sprocket's from 13t-16t, and the rear from 40t-51tT.

The higher number of teeth on the rear sprocket will raise the ratio # The bigger the rear sprocket you lose top end speed but gain torque. It is the opposite on the countershft sprocket. Alot cheaper to work with the little sprocket.
