Dietrich Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 I've got a 2004 Yamaha TW 125, which needs a new exhaust. The stock backbox has rusted right through, and is beyond repair. The front section is all intact. So, I need a new rear section to connect to the front and a backbox. Sounds easy enough, right? The only aftermarket exhaust I can find is >£400, which seems a bit excessive to me. I've been to a couple of garages who can't find anything either... So I think I'm looking at some sort of custom job. I originally wanted to get some sort of generic 4-stroke tailpipe, and get a bit of custom pipework to connect it to the front section, but the specialist in my area has got a big queue of work (2 months!) so it's not going to be that easy. Has anybody customised an aftermarket exhaust for a TW (or similar)? Are there any boxes which mount and fit easily / securely for the TW? Are there are aftermarket exhausts apart from the Arkopovic one? Are there any other bikes which are similar to the TW, so I could just transplant it over? I guess that's the problem with not very common bikes... I wouldn't change it though! EDIT: Am I right in thinking the SR125 and the XT125 use the same engine?
