Moderator Airhead Posted December 27, 2008 Moderator Share Posted December 27, 2008 John, not familiar but i would be suspecting the crankshaft primary gear and any woodruff key that it locates on, check this area IMO
Moderator drewpy Posted December 27, 2008 Moderator Share Posted December 27, 2008 does sound like a woodruff key, although they are only there to locate the part, its the taper friction that keeps it on. Maybe a loose bolt causing it to jump

Maybe a loose bolt causing it to jump WHAT SUPERSTARS U+ [ O.G.OA.B.] ARE...... It was indeed the primary gear [slipping on shaft] There is no key[way] just a taper shaft .. had slipped " Gona get the graphite paste on shaft [seat it properly] than tighten the 32mm nut .. Musta been some torque in that kickback to slacken it ----- By the way theres a CLASSIC SCRAMBLE [ TWINSHOCK AT LOCHSIDE FARM TMORROW] just off A90 /forfar .nrthbound. past Mcdonalds . 500yrds // for any of u vintage bikers up north..11AM. Moderator drewpy Posted December 28, 2008 Moderator Share Posted December 28, 2008 thought graphite was slippy? maybe put thread lock on your nut (not your head) maybe you could lap in the taper to get max friction using fine valve paste!!!
