82' DT250mx engine

I've jus brought a 82' DT250MX engine but its missing the cdi unit and i jus know that'll cost more than the engines worth,

Would the stater plate and points from the earlier model fit the MX engine???? would i have to change the genarator/fly wheel ect to???

The engines going in a TZR 125 chassis for track days and day time use only so lightings Brake light only and i may run total loss as weights a issue and the more electrical gubbins jus puts it on.

Any info would be helpfull, I know this aint a fast engine to start with but a major weight loss chassis wise, a stage 4 tune, 36mm mikuni carb, gibson pipe,reeds and road bias gearing i should rattle along nicely!.

Would the 400 topend fit???
