Greetings from Argentina.

Estimado amigo.

Rosscoe.

Hello again YamaGod,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Do you know if the Yamaha 1980 RS 125 and RX 125 are the same bike or at least share the same engine?

Because some countries have one and some have the other and they look very similar to me but I was just after an expert opinion with regards to parts and whether or not they would fit both?

Your help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Rosscoe

Hi, Rosscoe. The RS and the RX are the same bike. The minor differences are that some came with contact break points and some with CDI.

Some with the oil level witness on the deposit and some in the board. The denomination DX stands for the front brake disc , so you can find a RS DX.This one is the same to the RX. Although in Brasil was produced a RX without front brake disc.

Old RS´s and RX´s have minor differences in the engines design and in fairings, decals and fuel tank. But from 1979 onwards , they are the same motorcycle.

BTW , ¿ what year is yours ?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly,

I have possibly found some parts and am just trying to make sure they fit before I get them.

Mine is 1980 with the disc brake on the front.

Rosscoe.
