I did go to mikuni, looked thru some of their destributors...lotsa needles, but none with that number. Where did you get those numbers? Or, any other source, for that matter? oh I guess there buggered you may be able to get around the problem by adjusting the clip position. but don't forget to look at the diaphragms when you have the slides out if they are brittle they could be recovered with GT85 or WD Regards Jim
November 8, 200816 yr Author Naw, they're worn out enough to warrant replacing. On both carbs somewhat, but especially the left one.

To add confusion to the mix, I looked up the yamaha part number for that jet needle: 1L9-14116-21-00. I guess I'll try the yamaha dealership next.

I guess I'll try the yamaha dealership next. try speed & sport, they seem to have amassed lots a yam spares BTW they aren't part numbers, they are specs from mikuni via haynes manual.

November 10, 200816 yr Author Yup, tried there already. Alas, no XS360 anything there. Oh man, this has become an insurmountable obstacle, I tell ya. I called the yamaha dealership today. They couldn't track it down by the mikuni spec number, but did find the yamaha parts catalog number...and it's discontinued. And, no available cross reference for a comparable needle replacement. His advice was sniff out the needles on ebay.

These needles were made exclusively for the XS360, and are now utterly discontinued...with no cross referencing or aftermarket support that mikuni knows of. So, I'm basically SOL unless I find somebody hoarding new old stock needles. Unreal.

Ok, so if I do run the XS400 jet kit on the XS360...wait, why can't I run the XS400 kit, anyways? What would I likely have to do to make that work, ie, drop the needles, toss on pods, etc? Oldgit, I didn't email Sirius, but I did Sudco. Haven't heard from them, yet.
