Hi everyone,

Need help before I break down in tears!!! I've just adjusted the valve clearances on my bike and built it back up. When I first fired it up there was a loud ticking noise that can only be discribed as one of those clacker gismo you used to take to football matches. I had a play with the the tensioner and it quietened down but is still very much present. Is it usual for a tensioner to just go, it was fine before I started the work? Has anyone experienced the same?

Sorted, it was the tensioner. I took it out again and gave it a really good clean up. Stuck it back in and hey presto, a really well sounding bike!!! Excellent.

I think you just have to keep fitting and refitting these till they adjust up properly.
