Hi all, new here haing just bought a trike, I'm trying to identify the engine, the only stamp I can find on the crankcase is 5G8 ? Does this identify the engine as a SECA ? Also been looking to replace the downpipes etc with these, Yamaha XJ750XS Maxim Jama Originals, does anyone know if they will fit? Hope someone can help. Many thanks, Jeff

I think the 5G8 was made for the japanese market and i also think it was the SECA.

Cheers thanks for the reply, Yamaha said the same this afternoon.

Don't suppose you'd know if the downpipes for a 750 Maxim would fit do you? Yamaha said the should.

Howdy,

The 5G8 identifies it as a xj750RJ.

The first three # identifies model and year of manufacture.

The last info I have is 5G2 which is 1982.

Luck to you.
