Posted September 24, 200816 yr Hello people, i plan to re- jet my 2003 xt600e to suite a non-standard exhaust however im a bit confused with the twin carb set up. I have found a diagram of the carbs and have read from the exhaust manufacturers website that +10 points on the main jet would be a good starting point. Does this mean on the main jet on each of the two carbs? Sorry i've never done this before. Ps its a crd exhaust Thanks
September 24, 200816 yr Moderator If your XT is anything like mine.....it's actually a 2-stage carb (works like a 2-barrel on a car)....thus, the secondary barrel only opens after 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. So, there still is only 1 main jet in the primary side (where the fuel bowl is located). HTH @ least a little.
