Posted September 21, 200816 yr Hi folks, I got a 1988 FZR 1000 Genesis yesterday and thought I'd take it for a blast as it's such a gorgeous day, but my ride was cut short when the bloody thing fell of the side stand when I got it out the garage. So I have broken the gear selector. After looking around on the web I have come to the conclusion that the selector may not be original, as i seem to remember the guy I got it off saying something about it. Anyway, just wondered if anyone new whether it is original or if not, where I could get a replacement from. many thanks

September 21, 200816 yr Hi,thats definately not original and its a billet one.There are 3 for sale on ebay or ring 07791217615,his name escapes me,think its Todd,but hes a shed load of bits for sale,hope this helps.

September 21, 200816 yr Thats an after market gear change, made by raask. I had a set on my RF900. Google raask rearsets, should find some, a lot cheaper than most other makes.

I thought I recognised them... I wasn't 100% sure though. My RU had Raask rear sets on it when I bought it. I didn't get on with them though (too high and too far back... my poor knees and hips couldn't cope ), so I sold them and put standard sets back on and jacked up the rear about 40mm for good measure Got on great after that
