Posted May 2, 200420 yr Hey guys, I was wondering what the differences, if any, are between the Thundercat, the yzf-600 and the yzf-600r? Was there ever a YZF-600 Genesis? or is that only people putting genesis FZR tails on their yzfs? Also, what is the difference between a 95 yzf 600 and the newer ones?
May 8, 200420 yr The Cat and the YZF600R are the same....it's just that they didn't use the Cat name in the US.
October 16, 200816 yr The 95 YZF600 is basically the last version of the FZR600 with a different bodykit, looks similar to a YZF750. Have a look on bikepics, you`ll see what i mean.

As far as I have been able to find out is that the Thundercat is the European version, and the 600R is the version sold in America which I own. Never heard of Genesis once since i've owned mine. Parts from 2004 up 2007 will fit my bike so you may be able to go back further depending on your year and model. Hope this helps
