I've lost my ignition key and need help determining the cheapest way to get a replacement. I own a Seca 900. Can you please help.

See if the local key-cutting place can impression one from the lock.

Try an independant one, rather than a multi-branch place like Timpsons, though.

Failing that, any decent Locksmith should be able to do it, though it may cost.

You can make one yourself using a hacksaw blade and a set of files.

Instructions are on the internet.

Is it one of them that has electric signally bits in it?

If so, a pro Lockie should be able to copy you one up using the vehicle codes. This might still be cheaper than getting one off the manufacturer.

Roy, the best (& some times cheapest) way to get a new key is to remove the ignition yourself & take it to a locksmith, who will locate the key number (this can be on the side or behind the barrel) & cut a new key from a selection of masters that are issued to qualified locksmiths by manufacturers.

i purchased a 96 yzf w/o a key and i removed the seat lock and the top of the triple tree with the ignition in it. i gave it to a local locksmith and 20 dollars later.... voila running bike.
