Help!! Thanks Paul. Hi Paul, take the battery out to gain access to the other terminal, its a bit of a balancing act but can be done. Regads Jim
September 19, 200816 yr Hi Paul If you take both side covers off and take the strap off that holds the battery in place and remove the terminal on the right hand side of the bike ( the side where the break peddal is then the battery will pull out slightly and from the ther side you can just get enough room to remove the other terminal. I used a small spanner as you know there is not a lot of space between the battery and the air filter box.. If your still stuck try a small socket and ratchet..... Good luck
September 19, 200816 yr Author Hi Guys, Removed both side panels, easily managed to disconnect the left hand side which is below the airbox. Still can't access the right hand side thou, seems to be too much in the way. Grrrr!! Paul.
September 19, 200816 yr guess your battery leads are short.... What you can do is remove your seat then remove the air filter box you have to take the seat off as there is a bracket on the air filter box that foules on the frame. even that is a fidely job im supprised you cant pull the battery out to get the other terminal.

September 24, 200816 yr This one's a pita. Unscrew on LHS -ve terminal, then undo the red lead to the starter solenoid, and pull the battery out (or vice versa- leaves ground connected). Less hassle than trying to get a screwdriver/spanner to the +ve battery terminal on RHS. The lead from the batt +ve to the solenoid is easier to refit to the solenoid than the other end to the battery once reinstalled. I charge the batt by disconnecting the solenoid lead, and putting the batt charger +ve on it, and the charger -ve to the battery terminal exposed by disconnecting the ground lead. Charging happens without removing the battery. YMMV, etc. Nigel Thanks for all the advice guys. All sorted now thanks. The leads do seem rather short. Thanks Again, Paul.
