Appearance problem on a 1982 Virago 750

I just bought the bike last week and I am noticing that the crank shaft covers center circles that look like chrome but they are foil type material that are cracking and peeling off.

Also, there are 2 round cup unit covers again chrome like foil, that are doing the same.

I am wondering, does anybody have this problem?

How to fix or do something with this foil chrome?

I would appreciate any assistance to this .

Sounds like the chrome is peeling yes, theres nothing you can do other than source new ones, or good used ones...or have yours re plated.
