dibeydude85
power band and DEP i think it something like 18bhp... i still cant wheelie mine....scared of dropping it
liquidcooled
yeah about 18hp sounds right
mozzy
it also depends on the condition of the engine i know they are 11 bhp i think standard so 18 is about right i would open the valve all the way up and piss off the kmx owners and also those 18 year olds who just passed there a1 and got a cb250 superdream a tuned dt leaves those for dust
JonRisby
8) 8) 8) 8) I have just opened the valve all they way No bottom end but tons of power on the powerband  Great for OVERTAKING :!: just wondering what else i can do to make it quicker :?: sofar my top speed is 76MPH i have left the main jet standard... but i keep checking my plug and all seems ok many thanks
liquidcooled
hi jon, i'd go up two sizes in the main jets just to be sure. you could try playing with the gearing for a bit more speed, or go to someone like mick abbey and get the ports etc.. cleaned up a bit. dibeydude85
not that this relates to the topic but i hardly thought it nessessary to start a new one just for one question!! its easy to fit a DT with renthals isnt it???just a couple of bolts n stuff i need to and they are actually pretty cheap to buy without the labour thought it would make a nice afternoon job. my bars are pants and scratched etc and need the renthals on there, was just wondering if its as easy as it seems thanks guys
liquidcooled
yes changing bars is easy mate, just make sure cable routing is still ok if they're higher or wider. you know, so that the speedo, rev cables reach ok and dont tug or anything when bars moved lock to lock. you shouldnt have probs with renthals though 8)
dibeydude85
cool, shouldnt be too hard :? although i am slightly worried about changing the throttle grips over...where the hell do i start!? the renthals are more or less the same dimensions as the DT bars i believe.... but how do i get the throttle grip off and back on again??? does it all slide off when you undo the bolts?? fogive my naivety on the subject i still got a lot to learn dammit!! Admin Alex Posted May 6, 2004 Admin Share Posted May 6, 2004 The trick i used to use on my motorcross bikes was to slide something under the grips and move around, spray some wd40 in there, twist and hey presto they come off. Then leave them to soak in hot soapy water and wash them off. Spray the insides with hairspray and quickly slide on making sure that they are the right way round, leave for a few minutes and hey presto 8)
