i have a 79 xs 750 the bike was sputtering in low rpms and i changed from air cleaner to air pods and now gas is dumping in the oil. does anyone know whats going on here/ and how can i fix it?

If It's a really old bike and has been put under a lot of stress, like racing for example, seals and gaskets may be crapping out on you. Check your carburetors also; if they overfill they may leak the gas on a route straight into your cylinder and into your oil pan.

Theres a few other possibilities, but i can't really think of anymore right now...

I'll tell you when i find more. Good Luck
