wallo123
Hello, always wanted one when I was younger, but couldn't afford one, but have finally managed to get on :-) The bike does not have a V5 but the frame and engine numbers match, is there a web site I can use to fine the exact year and model? I think it's a 1983 model. Will it be hard to get an age related plate? Does anyone know the best place to get spares and or where there are any good images, the person who had the bike before me must have been a goth nearly everything is painted black :-( Thanks in advance............ HoggyF
Might be a silly answer but have yuo tried DVLC , if the bikes been registered they should be able to tell you its original reg number. The other one would be to ring Yamaha UK and get them to write to verifying the age. Good luck with the rebuild.
wallo123
Thanks mate, and no I haven't tried this, guess I took the blokes word that it hadn't been registered, I'll try that tomorrow. As for good luck with the rebuild, I think I need it, didn't think it would be so hard to get parts, but I guess that's the challenge. If you have any decent pictures of a 1983 IT please let me know where I can see them, the frame and engine number start with 5Y0, which is why I think it's an '83 model. Cheers

HoggyF
I'm trying to rebuild an XT350 and struggling to get anyone in Cumbria to do an engine rebuild, I bought it"just needing a set of rings" (it was cheap though!) and then found out when i stripped it it needs rings, a rebore and piston and the crank re-doing. Nearest place I've found that would supply parts and do the job was in Stoke, a 2 hour journey. I also found once I bought it that the XT350 engine is unique to that bike and getting a decent one off ebay etc costs a fortune if you can findone. cheers
