geoffp
Hi guys I'm new on here; just picked up a 2001 FZS600 Fazer for knocking around on and it's a great bike! Only area I'm not comfortable with is the headlight. On dip beam it's almost non-existent! Or feels that way at least. I was genuinely scared riding the first time in the dark... I'm sure htis has been asked before, but is this common and if so what's the standard fix please? Thanks Geoff
yoda
There is a modification that involves a little wiring to have both lights on at the same time. I do not know whether it will work on your bike. Other things to check are that the earths are clean and working and the headlight switch is clean and not corroded. If your not getting full voltage to the light, it will be dim.
grizzlydan
have you checked the plug on the back of the headlight? if one of the terminals are not contacting properly the bulb will be dim, i learnt this the hard way (at the MOT station). Ok; appreciate the feedback. I'll get the multi meter out and do some voltage drop down tests. I thought that perhaps the lens was a bit crappy or that it needs a HID conversion of something... The actual 'shroud' over the low-beam bulb looks like it blocks most of the light!
