Add an oil cooler to a SR250?

Hi.

Is it possible to connect an oil cooler to my air cooled engine? I have a 1982 single cylinder Yamaha sr 250. I'm using this engine in an off road buggy.

Here is a pic of my oil system:

Here is the only connection point I know about:

My concern is that if I connect an oil cooler here, my cylinder head will now longer get the correct oil flow because some will be going through the cooler.

What do you think?

    the xs750/850's have theirs twixt crankcase and oil filter housing. ie from the oil pump, round the cooler and into the filter.
