can anyone help me i have a r1 1998 model and when i bought it i noticed that when you turn the lights on the digital speedo sort of resets itself and the horn stops working also when you try to use your flashers or high beam the same thing happens suggesting to me that there is an earth problem does anyone know what that sounds like and where i need to look to fix this have tried fuses but none blown

It does sound like water in the conections or bad cable connectors. You need to spray all the connectors and switches with a water repellent, such as WD40. Failing this, us must check the whole electrical harness for shorting and burning.

For safety, disconnect the battery when not in use.
