Posted July 20, 200816 yr I've read this is somewhat normal, but after I broke the engine in...around 1500 miles, a mysterious ticking noise from the top left side of the engine appeared. Increases/Decreases with engine speed/rpms. Engine & Exhaust muffles the noise at 5K plus. All the local dealer's say it's normal, but I'm not so sure of their competence. IS this normal, or do I have a problem? Seems a bit strange to pay 11K for a finely tuned bike like this to have "tick" after teh engine was broken in properly.
