recently baught my dt125. its a 1998 model R reg. ive been reading up on how to deristric the bike. ive taken the "collor" out of the front pipe and im stumped on the power valve bit. i found this site........http://www.dtr125.net/tuningf.htm

when i took the side cover off my bike i found that the plastic piece thats suposed to be connected to the end of the power valve wasnt een there and i was given it in a plastic bag when i baught the bike. in the guide it tells you you need to rotate the power valve through 180 degres and make sure the plastic bit goes on exactly the same way it came off. obviously mine wasnt in place to start with so my question is how do i position the plastic thing inside the casing as i dont know what its possition was to start with??? should the power valve be open or closed when the bike is switched off looking up the exhaust port??

can anyone help me out here?
