I am new to bikes so bare with me while I try to explain what is going wrong. I just bought a 2001 R6 2 weeks ago and the first day i got it home I rode it around for about 3 or 4 hours and it was running fine. I shut it off and let it set for about 15 to 20 minutes and it wouldn't start when I went to leave. After I tried to start it until the battery was dead, I had to push the bike home (luckily I was just 2 blocks over) and I put it on the battery charger and cranked until it started. It took the throttle being wide open to start and then it had a rough, low rpm idle. The bike had been sitting for awhile so the next morning I drained the gas tank, changed the plugs (which were fouled), and put in fresh gas and a carb cleaner. It ran fine for the next couple days but I didn't drive it far. The next time I rode it for about 3 hours and had the same problem again. My friend test drove it the next day and it wouldn't act up on him. I rode all day sunday from about noon until 10:00 p.m. and it finally acted up when I went to take off for home. My friend rode the bike home for me and said it was flooding itself out at low rpms but ran fine at around 8000 and above. It seems to be doing this randomly but only when I drive it for awhile. I have been reading about the TPS problem that seems to be common but I'm not sure if that is my problem. If anyone has had this problem or knows what it might be I would appreciate any help I can get.
