July 11, 200816 yr Author Firstly a big hello to all from a new member, please can somebody tell me what BHP a standard 2005 R1 produces ?.Thank you Thats great thank you,i'm going to have it put on a dyno so its good to know what it should have to start with. Bergy
July 11, 200816 yr If you put a standard bike on a dyno you will find that it produces about 15% less power than quoted. This is due to transmission losses and manufacturing tolerances. We would all have cheaper insurance if the makers told the truth.

July 11, 200816 yr Factory quoted power is from the crankshaft and therefore pure 'engine' power. Then you start multiplying the losses straight away. Motorcycle transmissions, even the DN01 are long and lossy.
July 22, 200816 yr Had mine on a dyno at CMC on there Dyno open day, got 149.10 BHP, 173 MPH at back wheel with standard cans de-baffled & a standard Y piece de-catted. bike ran a bit rich they told me to have a PC3 fitted & custom mapped to improve BHP & running. (must say it sounds wicked on over run with all the popping/banging)
