Hi Folks,

I have just picked up a 1989 fzr 1000 exup .

the exup valve is siezed and irepairable .I have been told you can just remove the valve and run the bike without it.

Does anyone know whether anything else needs to be done to the bike to do this ?( Other than making a plate to cover the hole where the valve was)

Thanks Dell

Hi Dell,

if you can remove the exup valve then you must be able to release it ! otherwise there are usually spare ones on e-bay ?

anyway if you do decide to remove it you would also have to disconnect the motor that opens and closes the exup valve which is located under the tank on the right hand side of the frame ( just trace the cable back from the exup valve )

Regards

Bill
