Hi there. I have a problem with the little yamaha XS 400.

It runs like shit. It only just starts (with the choke) but there is no way you can reve it up and drive of with it.

I took out the spark plugs but they look normal. Also took out a little plug at the bottem of the carburator and gas is comming out. What could it be?? Please give my some advise.

crap in the carbs causing fuel blockage, float height changed so starving carb of fuel.

compensating with choke will make the sparkies look normal

BTW modern fuels don't colour the sparkies like they used to!!
