it is just possile that im being slightly thick

but i had to give up with my efforts to fit my R&G tail tidy today

i have broken one of the plastic push in plug thingy (hi tech jargon there)

is there an easy way to get them out ???

How is it broken? I'm assumming you know that you can push the center rod all the way through the housing? That should stop it spreading the housing allowing it to come out?

Sorry if thats obvious, but you've not give much detail, so have to start with the obvious
