SR250 electrical

Hi. I'm new to this forum so I hope this is in the right section.

I have an Exciter SR250 engine that I'm using as a motor for a buggy I'm building. I was told that the year was an 82. The model number on the bike was 5V1 (which means 82??). The number on the ignition computer says 5V0.

All the wiring diagrams that I have found for the iginition computer show 5 wires, but mine has six wires. The extra wire is black with a white strip and is connect to something that looks like a relay.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram that shows this extra wire? Doesn't anybody know what it does??? Can anyone confirm that my motor is from an 82??
