Posted May 21, 200816 yr hi i have just bought my second fj1200 a 1987 e reg model us import im wanting to do a oil change the manual says use 10w30 oil local dealer says 10/40 can anyone recoomend a oil to me the bike seems to be running very hot ?

Welcome to the frey! You can use a 10 winter/40 or 50, what ever is available. This should be mineral, I believe. Why do you think your bike is running hot? There are two reasons for running hot, one is retarded ignition and the other is weak fuel/air ratio.
May 21, 200816 yr Author most owners seem to reccomend morris ringfree xhd20w/50 oil but where can i get some have tried everywhere i live in the north east england
