Posted May 19, 200817 yr Hi, I would like to know your opinion on the 2003 Yamaha R1. I had the '99 model and loved it to bits. Had a clunky 1st to 2nd gear change, but that was it. I am about to buy a 2003 R1 for £3500, is this the going price for a 15 000mile, but spotless bike? Thank you.
May 24, 200817 yr Author that is a very good price! I was looking at an 2003 R6 for £3500 Thanx for the reply. I am picking it up on Tuesday! Really can't wait now... The thing is, I haven't been on a bike for a bit more than a year now. Had an accident with the other R1 (BMW t-boned me and my Gfriend). And now I am a little bit worried that I have lost my bottle, if you know what I mean. I'll see how it goes. Thanks again for the re-assurance about the price!
May 25, 200817 yr that is a very good price! I was looking at an 2003 R6 for £3500 I bought my 55 plate 4000 mile R1 for £5k last month with about a grands worth of tasteful mods if thats any help

May 26, 200817 yr Author Thanx a lot guys! Really can't wait now. Just hope the weather plays along... Another thing... The bike is completely standard, would any of you recommend a race can? (Road legal - not looking for more performance really, just sound and looks) Cheers
