I would've loved to put it out on the road but money just isn't there, my xj600 won't shift for anything but silly money
But yes there is a reserve so if it makes that I'll be very happy
Having to collect it will make it awkward for most people but I plan to reimburse their ferry trip if it makes good money
I'm nice like that, lol

The right silencer is original tho been repainted in pj1, i have another thats been welded previously, no good to me but certainly do in an emergency
Paint codes are near impossible to find,
Automart do a silver alloy that seems to be a good match, won't know til its clearcoated
Decals bought on ebay from an american company, good color match but now as i've applied them i've found the ones for the nose are too short

And the rear is too dark

Not sure whether to keep them or try again
Clear coating starts today

Well the body work is coming along on the Turbo, All but the belly pan has has decals removed, primed and top coated in silver alloy, which isn't too bad a match
Body work back on to line up the new decals before lacquer

And my pair together just because, lol

This is waiting to go on

Decals should go on tommorow, then lacquer, as many coats as possible
Belly pan not done as needs fibreglassing around the casing holes

Pji Fast Black works fine on the engine, as for casings i painted the outside and polished the centres
Bought a NOS clutch cover centre from an xj750 which fits fine and looks the part
i do recommend soda blasting the block before you paint it, makes for a far nicer finish
The Pump cover just needs the gold inlay doing

Or send your small bits to me and i'll do them in with mine, or can swap your old stuff from my 2nd turbo

Her list is as follows
Replaced engine with younger lower mileage one 25k
Clocks read 48k but kept original engine for spares
Only swapped cause of mileage and a broken exhaust stud
NOS polished footrest hangers
NOS rear grabrail
Polished fork brace, sprocket cover, genny cover, oil pump cover, rocker cover
Pods installed
Replaced exhaust, recoated headers, (PJ1 great stuff)
Replaced all bodywork with original,
Repainted frame, hammerite, was before had sandblaster and compressor but not great but no rust
Braided lines front and back
New friction plates
Complete service
Much more like greasing parts etc, so it's good as it can be

i Shotblasted my own, glass bead does it fine,Got a five kilo bucket from machine mart, a cheapy blasting hopper, can't live without one now, sandpaper and paintstripper is a thing of the past
Well worth the investment, though the compressor will run you a bit, a company in shetland will powdercoat a frame for about 150, but they dip the frame in acid to strip it, so 230 for blasting and stripping is about right
I soda blasted the engine, amazing finish, needs nothing but a wash down and some turps for repaint
And for your tail pipes undercoat in Simoniz heat dipersant paint, topcoat in PJ1 gloss back they come out just as good as original, works on headers too, turn gloss with heat

Well this is the 2nd of the turbo's, the first needing engine work so abandoned for now

Exhaust's were undercoated in simoniz heat dispersant and topcoated in Pj1 work's fairly well

Body work now being prepped for paint, new decals arrived from U.S. and were a very good match

What's been done so far
Full frame blast and repaint
Engine Soda blast and repaint (pj1 again Very good stuff)
Carbs overhauled
Stainless braided hoses and ebc pads upfront
Polished hangers
Much more
More to follow soon

You need to have paid subscription or upload em to photobucket i think
i've had a look, its not that much of a horror, though its been dropped it looks like it wasnt moving, dropped of its stand likely
that wire judging by it gauge was probs just a security alarm thing or kill switch, looks too thin to be the live to the battery
mileage is a worry judging by condition its done alot of long trips, exhaust seems good so maybe has been maintained
Again match the numbers
$150 to $200 is ok if you're not afraid of a wrench
do check the frame rails under that big hole they carry alot of weight and stress

Hi
I owned an Fzr with far less mileage than that, Paid 150 gbp for it, with little or no damage. 78k is alot, and by sounds it probably wasn't very well cared for, with that kind of mileage i'd
check if engine and frame numbers match
If its been thrown down the road i'd inspect the alloy frame very carefully for cracks and bends
They are pretty bulletproof, and a joy to own, but if i were you i wouldn't want to pay more than a few beers for it as it'll cost you a bit to get it back to scratch
If engine is original a rebuild will be a must, as with carbs, all bearings etc
Not a weekend job, but they are worth it, stupidly quick and handle great
