Hi I bought xvs650 off noise on here, I'm busy redoing her to my liking, not massively far as of yet but getting there ( lack of garage and space means I have to work around the wife in the kitchen ) thought I might add some pictures of progress as I know how much I love seeing other people's pictures 6b991c416ab62116cf587b7102da4c46.jpg

That's the day after I got her from previous owner, since then I stripped her down to 4 boxes of bits,

That is the bike stripped and stored in the kitchen, I then started stripping down the engine to replace the gaskets and repaint in matt satin black b7480f026e1b58b225371ca61d655092.jpg93d31bc583e375618434ee4b30bc4f4d.jpg50dea11b2d4718618fa26e234559588a.jpg

I then noticed that it was weeping from the cam chain tensioner housing so I replaced that from the usa for 20£,

I then moved on to the wheels and did them in the same black but left the polished lip in chrome ( still busy on rear wheel and hub assembly as we speak)4f91a7184ba9a415e91b2a89797764dc.jpgd043f3006fd8a7a71fe401abe193528e.jpg

The bike came with a sportster tank so I reinforced the frame at the neck and under the solo seat as I wanted it a thicker grade at 2.5mm, I also welded up the tunnel on the tank to hide the tunnel and attached two plates for flush mounting of tank, I'm waiting for two brass elbows to fit a fuel pipe running outside the tank for retro old school fuel gauge :)bc21faf530ee1132bee4a7953d539077.jpg8498276d763c5ae2a6e03fefc8334303.jpg3019a78504b850d1d46fccbfccb45176.jpg

I am going to auto jumble tomorrow to find a better seat and mock it up for mounting, also will be looking for headlight and bars at the jumble so fingers crossed,

Sometime this week the frame and all played etc will be going in for blasting and powdercoating

Thanks for your time and I will update as I go along

Here is what I am hoping it ends up looking: 1a2dfabe8f0d577a7f04e0c0997ead2c.jpg

They work alright but they are the wire mesh ones so a bit crooked, but if u got same shape foam they should work perfectly, I'm in the process of getting a 2 to 1 manifold fabricated to take single carb and rid the dual carb set up

Just an update...decided to sack off the convention seat and go for something crazy, decided to mock up a cantilever system with rise joints and a mountain bike shock...this is it so far

I also ordered a rear fender from a recommendation on here and it turned out to be a lovely bit of tin, will be cutting and mounting tonight , you can see it on the right in this pic eb3ba2cb4a363ac7cb0c207c479c5ec8.jpg
