Picked up the crankcases and fair play they look really good, cost me 50 quid. Was quoted 75 quid to do the head and barrels but that seemed a bit steep to me plus I'm skint lol. Anyways, here are the piccies

I can only assume the £75 is because they are painted, it takes an awful long time to strip painted parts using paint stripper and aqua blasting, I've had quite a few barrels and heads done this way but this week I took two barrels to the aqua blasters and only paid £30 the pair, ....and they're aircooled so more work needed. I stripped the paint off myself this time and benefitted from a fast turn around. Get youself some 'synstrip' it's the only stripper that seems to work nowadays and soak the barrels for 1 1/2 hours in the stuff followed by a jet wash. in the past It's cost me £20 just for one cyl head because of the time it took!

Aww wow. Those crankcases look really good. Almost wish I did the same to mine when I stripped them down :(

I sanded them down as much as I could then sprayed the rest. But I'd rather have done your method.

Looking good.

Well look what arrived today :-)

I really need a way of sneaking these into the house to stave off the 20 questions from the unimpressed mrs lol.

Went to stash it in the garage and had another hunt for the missing pistons rings I know I've got. Still can't find them but came across an old toolbox that hadn't been opened in donkeys years and these were inside....

Genuinely didn't realise I had these so I'm well chuffed and also these, apologies for the blurred picture

LOL steve have it delivered next time to the neighbour, the one your wife hates and dont talk to.But you could just tell her it was in the mess allready ,dosent look like she goes in the shed or it would have been ??? well it wouldn't look like it did HAHAHA.

For example just look at Sacha's picts every time you see her bike every tool is put away, floor swept never looks like anyone has ever done any work in there, just waved a magic wand and presto it's done.

Been a few days now and I haven't actually assembled anything yet! Had to order new crankcase studs as I couldn't find my old ones but carried on searching for more stuff, this time in the loft and hit the jackpot. A big box containing this

Aww wow. That's lovely. Those clocks with that sort of mileage. I'd almost be tempted not to bother plugging in the speedo. I'm naughty like that though....

Obviously would sell it with the actual mileage but when can you get clocks with that sort of mileage.
