Hi all

New to this forum and just posted elsewhere so I thought I'd put my gripe up on the New Members area too.

I have a 1977(poss 78) Yamaha RS 125 DX. Headlamp bulbs last less than a mile before the high beam pop shortly followed by the dipped. My mechanic has checked all the wires and corrected some earthing errors but it continues to happen. He has as good as washed his hands of it now.

He did sugest the regulator could be at fault but I cant find mention of it anywhere in Haynes or on the web. Even Yambits who are generally good for parts don't know where it is. They are insistent that it is not built into the rectifier. Does it even exist?? I assume it must have one...if so where??? Is there anything else which could be causing the problem?

HELP....seems like it should be a simple fix but I'm struggling to even get the info to get started.

Thanks

My Dt 400 was mounted on frame at airbox outlet,,,, :eusa_think: most components will be same as Fsie/ DT, twinshocks,

it will be a diode on Rh side of frame below fuel tank,,,

Agree with Blackhat... I had a 77 RS125DX and it had the same as yours... Firstly make sure all the bults are the correct wattage, it MUST have a good battery... The rectifier has possible cooked itself but they are cheap to replace.. I did all that with mine and it worked spot on after that
