wrx03 Posted August 4, 2005 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Hi, i just picked this bike up, almost for free. It needs a clutch and a tune up. BUT, the motor has a nice ticking sound. Any ideas what it could be? I hope its not one of the valves. The bike has been sitting in the previous owners backyard not covered for 7 months. Also, anyone know if there is body paneling i can get from a newer bike that would fit on mine? Someone told me the 99r1 should fit. Anyone know? Thanks. sheeny7 Posted August 11, 2005 Share Posted August 11, 2005 I'm not sure about r1 but i have a yzf750 and run the rear seat unit of 01 r1 took very little sorting and i'd say the fairing wouldn't take much but would mean a small amount of fabrication... Also ticking if its been stood a good overall be a start the valve clearances are not hard to do and have a look at if its ticking on tickover and goes when it opened up it may be cam chain related!!!
