Hi there. I own a 06' XT125R and recently had an accident. It dropped on it's left side (Gear changer's side) and since then the gears have not worked properly.

I need to get in there and have a look at the damage but I realised that in order for you to get into the gearbox you need to remove the starter motor also.

Can anyone tell me how i would remove the starter motor?

many thanks, Aj

Hi, my advice to you is to get a Clymer manual. I've just stripped and rebuilt an XT 350 engine & box and the instruction was excellent. You might not need to take the box apart, maybe the gearshift can be removed from the clutch side, but the book shd tell you. And it will explain the starter removal procedure in idiot proof manner. Got my Clymer book twenty quid from Trail & Trials UK, Manchester. They're on the web. Good luck! ;)
