So just got me a brand-spankin' new(in 1977) DT250! [bows to thunderous applause] Yep! & I'm lovin it--much easier offroad than my KLR. Now, I can tell I will have a lot of questions about this bike in the future, but for now, I was wondering:

1) Have any of y'all ever figured out a way to plumb in a valve or quick-disconnect/seal or some other way to keep gas from pouring everywhere when you take the tank off?? The little hose under there that you have to disconnect every time is good at shooting it right at your crotch.

2) I hear 2-strokes are iffy on the freeway--that long-distance ridin can wear 'em out. Any truth to this?

3) Is there a simple way to set the mixture? DPO thought the mix was the idle, so it is far out of whack indeed.

Thanks in advance for any help!

PS--bunch of us goin' out near here HJune 14th & 21st. PM if interested.
