ok heres my opinion on it. im about to rant so please bare with me I do not think at 17 u shud be able to have access to bigger bikes even tho they are restricted here are my reasons 1) at 17 u cannot go to test on anything bigger than a 125, nor can u train on anything other than a 125 untill ur 21 so to do test at 17 on a 125, then go get say a 600cc bike is silly. even tho its restricted u have never ridden a bike of this power so tbh i think its bloody silly

again, same to a post i replied on b4, i too had this prob, turned out to be my ignition barrel, was cuttin power

The guys who service all my dads work bikes took a 2min look at it and said its not the spark plug unfortunately i havent had time for them to look at it properly

its not flooding so thats not the problem, and spark plug is fine it will idle wen u 1st start the engine, infact it will sit there and tick over for how ever long but as soon as u set off, thats when it all goes wrong u change down gear and start slowing down it tries stalling if u power it off, for example at a petrol station to fill up and then start it again it wont start its very bizzarre

cannot wait till may and i will be getting a bigger bike but im keeping my sr and restoring it

spark plugs r fine it was garaged for 4years when i got it exhuast is fine and no loss of power (trust me this sr shifts quick)

i am the same My motorbike is my transport all year round, i dnt have a car and dont want one so my SR gets ridden day or nite, rain snow or sunshine And im sick of hearing "motorcylists r dangerous, theyre wankers blah blah blah" why shud we all be tarnished, spesh by car drivers who tbh, there are more of them on the road, and they are ten times worse than the bad motorcyclists!!!

sheeesh full grown men arguing cant u agree to disagree i see both sides yes they r bright and tbh blind us but i can also see the side that ppl put them on for other rode users to see them better in poor visibilty ok so there are pratts who put them on when its not really needed but id rather some1 had them on in the bad bad rain so i can see clearly whats going on in front but at the same time the fog lights annoy me for blinding me its a no win situation lol

I got my SR last year for 300quid Had a few problems but fixed the main ones my current problem is the engine it wont idle, and also it will try and stall at any given time, like if im breaking, using the clutch etc im not sure whats wrong and wud it cost alot to recondition the engine ive replaced the exhuast with a brand new one (it needed it) ignition barrel is new as the old one kept cuttin out my engine whilst riding just any ideas and help wud be appreciated

ok well i dnt know much about mechanical faults but when doing 40mph on my sr, the engine cut out again no reasons, petrol etc etc was fine it turned out the ignition barrel was slightly worn and as i had gone over a slight bump it cut the engine just a thought maybe

I have to say that there really are some awful riders out there who tbh only have bikes to ride around as fast as they can with complete disregard for other bikers and road users Every day i see other bikers (not just at the weekends) who tbh ride like assholes I dnt usually rant but im gonna if ur gonna get a bike then u need to realise ur not god on the road and u cant be cutting people up left right and center no wonder us bikers get a bad name, its the tossers on the roads who ride like twats that we have to thank for that, which really infuriates me why do it? grrr

Hey guys my name's Tamz, im 20 and from Berkshire I have a yamaha sr125 at present, needs a lot of tlc as i brought it in a state of disrepair Im currently doing lessons at my dad's training school to get my full licence and then i shall buy something bigger as well as restoring my SR does any1 else here have an sr, or know anything about engines as i need some advice Anyways thats my hello lol x
