I have part exed my great FZ600 for a ZZR 1100 ,Ive had some great times and some bad times ive learned a lot ,like not to go into a blind corner flat out, but the time is right i need a new rear shock mines leakin new discs and pads all round the chain and sprockets are done and generally its f!*?ed. Ill still be around and have a few parts spare if anyone is needing them All i ask is forgiveness!!!!!!!!
  3. Anyone in the north west of england having any rideouts ,we go out on a Wednesday night to the Hen And Chicken near Skelmersdale .Any others give u a shout its always good to contemplate some new twisties
  4. try a company called pattern parts which you can compare part numbers only do limited stuff but you get some ideas failing that get a haynes manual and look through it
  5. just another excuse to keep them off cos u cant go upsetting the bike now can u
  6. It is now time that i replace the FZ600 with something a little newer .I want a bike to commute to and from work each day , then on a Wednesday night go to the local bike meet (lotsa drag racing up the dual carriageway and country lanes with the odd wheelie attemptthrown in for good measure) then theres the longer runs on the motorway and going to meets a little further afield.Oh and then theres the early weekend ride with my 6 year old daughter thats the calm ride .Ilooked at a Suzuki TL1000r but think maybe just alittle too different, checked the insurance and cant do thr r1 thing so i thought of the r6 ,can any of you r6 owners give me a clue how fast top end ,what are they like two up etc. I have seen a couple at the yamaha dealer near home and there are a couple of 1999 models with really low miles so any comments are appreciated ta andy
  7. As with most things oil more so ,get the best that you can get ur hands on after all this is all that keeps the engine from ceasing

    Drain Plug???

As you sit on the bike it is underneath the left hand side of the engine ,I dont know if mines been tinkered with but its a normal bolt stylie with a crosshead screw through it .Its here so that you can drop the oil whilst on the stand and the drain plug is at the lowest point(just a note mine sthe 87 model should be the same but !!!!) Hope it helps
  12. oh yes the tyres the first place i started but alas no joy there!!!!! its as if someone has dropped a fine layer of diesel on every road i go on and its slowing me down and will eventually put me down
  13. Hi guys back again , I dont know about you guys but everywhere i go at the minute when its wet my rear end feels as though it is on the move ,i go round a corner and i can feel the rear end sliding out and its scary.I first noticed it one morning on the way to work picture it 0530 knocking down the local dual carriageway hit the brakes and turn as per usual but just as i get into the bend the arse starts twitching. i thought nothing of it and put it down to me going in to fast but then it happened on every corner now i think about it, and now every bend it feels like its going. But .....as soon as the wet stuff goes away its back to its usual sticky self its a newish tyre with plenty of tread i tried playing with suspension settings front and rear but cant seem to work out why I just wanted to know if anyone else is suffering or if its me and my machine goin wrong please help before i end up coming out of the corner on my arse Ta in advance

    WHEELIES

Dont worry mate i got an 87 FZ600 and all you need do is get your gear on leathers etc get your bike nice and warm poodle along in first at about 15mph knock the gas off and crack it on and hold tight with your knees on the tank. It may only come up a little but continue untill you have it sorted then try 2nd gear and about 25mph same agian ,you get the jist . Once you have it totally sorted try fist gear bout 15mph the slip the clutch and the wheel will jump right up but dont try this untill u are confident powering the front up as it does come up very quickly and can scare the proverbial out of you if you arent ready for it. most of all practice it has taken me 2 years to get it and it still doesnt go that high(might be a lack of balls)!!!!!!!
  15. Just bite the bullet and buy a scottoiler they cost a few quid but makes life so much easier and theres no mess just keep an eye on the reservoir
