  1. Yippee, passed ma theory this morning I was well chuffed as I got 50/50 for the multi "guess" bit and 58/75 for the hazard perception. I've booked my A2 practical but jangling nerves mean I'm keeping the date to myself (sorry!). I had my first go at u-turns during my lesson yesterday, did some fairly good and some bloomin awful so loads of practice now required. Cheers. Amanda
  2. Yeah work the curse of the biking classes Still gotta pay for the toys and trips somehow I suppose I'm having no flippin luck with the lottery
  3. I've got a 56 plate YBR too, so stupid girlie comment comin up - what's wrong with using the kick start to kick it over? Or is it so drained that the always on headlight etc just kills it? Forgive the ignorance, I'm really not sure! I have left mine a week, outside, under a heavy duty cover in what is now colder and damper weather and it fires up without any real bother at all. You said you don't use the bike much - how long are you leaving it between rides? The fact that I have to leave the choke on for 6 days (or at least it feels that bloomin long) is beside the point of this thread but is the only real problem I get with mine. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, hoping to learn summat. Cheers. Amanda
  4. Cherish your memories and talk about them, and your lost child, often. Perhaps consider some grief counselling and if you're in the UK and you have other children look up Winston's Wish Web site Click Here they can be incredibly helpful. Above all else don't be afraid to cry and allow yourself time. You will never forget them but the raw pain will ease to something just bearable and then you can keep your memories close for ever. Luv and prayers to you and yours. Amanda

Hi Steve Congrats on the test and the purchase - you'll have to compare notes with Beckie! Enjoy the Forum they're a knowledgeable lot, just don't mind if they wind you up now and then - it's usually harmless fun Amanda

Sorry to my Auzzie cousins and Auzzies I've met through this Forum but . . .
  7. Wow, cheers Tomo! Dramatic scenery and dramatic weather too!
  8. Texas Criminal for pete's sake contact the Motorcycle Safety Foundation as per this link (taking a wild guess as to which part of the US you're in here!) Click here - PLEASE! Do it BEFORE you buy a bike please and take a Basic Rider Course, it's GREAT fun, teaches you heaps and ASK them about bikes to buy. Please, please, please, for me, pretty please! You're scaring me!!!!!!!!! Amanda
  9. HELP Tomo someone I need a scenery fix here!!!! I need piccies, now. As opposed to a whisper fix that is (see thread elsewhere) - caramel or otherwise, yuk Amanda
  10. Right, that's it, where's the phone number of the flippin estate agents?!!!!!!!!! Now, where to move to?
  11. Apologies to all, I went away and thought about what I'd written and I'm really sorry. I'm on a downer about Suffolk at the moment generally for all sorts of reasons but that's no excuse. I'll take me and my grumpy mood away from the Forum for a while and will come back smiling and more pleasant to be around in due course. Again apologies. Tomo hope you're having a brill time, and Andy if you hooked up. Amanda
  12. I know but hah Yoda betcha not ridden round Northumberland then huh, huh?!!! Till ya have ya can't talk about scenery with any real authority Ok I'm away off to sit on the naughty stair for a while Amanda
  13. Guys sorry to be a nag but I wuda thought giving out your mobile number in a post is a BAD idea! Stick to a PM to give out personal info like that. The honest amoungst us wouldn't abuse it but I wouldn't like to vouch for everyone and the casual guest browser type person. Amanda
  14. Blimey Tomo, it REALLY has bin ruf Check out wot you wrote at the start of post #3 Like I sed MAKE SURE you swap heads before setting orf and don't forget ya camera or there'll be trouble Enjoy!! Amanda
  15. ohhh flippin heck, more scenery envy With apologies to Yoda but Suffolk just doesn't quite cut it Keep posting the pics though 'cos it's bloomin good incentive to get me test passed, get a few miles under me belt, get a bigger bike and go see for myself Have a brilliant ride Tomo, just remember to exchange your "had a rubbish time at work" head for your "time to ride" (aka be safe and have FUN) head before you set off Yours in envy. Amanda
  16. Oh help, I've got a stitch and am crying from laughing sooooooo much Priceless. I'm really sorry about your predicament but BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the ladies in your lives, female toilet humour can be found here: Joke Amanda
  17. Whoo hoo, but let's all start putting in our requests for better weather, it's horrid out there right now
  18. Ok so it's a bit late as a report but this day wuz fan-flippin-tastic & next year I'm determined I'm gonna ride my own bike. A coupla YBRs joined in part way through the 60 mile ride out route. As a girlie pillion I had the best time waving like a maddun at the spectators parked in laybys, stood on bridges and even stood on the middle of roundabouts all along the route Photos at Essex Air Ambulance 2007. Ok so they're harleys and buells (see other somewhat rude threads!) but SERIOUS respect to the skills of Craig Jones - he's soooo worth seeing. Bacon butties weren't too bad either worth dragging ya backside outta bed on a Sunday morning to do this kinda thing. An experienced lady rider on another forum needed their services a few weeks back after an accident 6 miles from home left her left leg shattered in 5 places - ouch!!! I managed to catch someone out at the Pitstop Day at Orwells, Ipswich last Saturday by spotting he hadn't removed his attendance sticker from his headlight so asked him if he'd had a good time - I think he thought I was psychic As an event this is excellent, brilliant organisation, great spirit, although there wuz a bit of an unseemly scramble in the pre-registered area to depart asap so it could have been more overtly marshalled but no-one dinged anyone else as far as I could tell Just keen I guess! For once the girls loo queues were waaayyy shorter than the fellas So we need more lady riders/pillions to even up the numbers in future Amanda
  19. Well jealous of your planned trip. Post a write up once you're done PLEASE!! Hubby & me wanna ride out to Crete one of these years but the list of trips I wanna do is growin exponentially, too much to do, too little time When ru planning on going? Cheers. Amanda
  20. Hmmmm guess Crete can be postponed to 2010!!!! Owch my arm! Will speak to the Cuzs, the boffy one at Birds Australia used to ride a bike years ago, he came over this summer on his 50th birthday road trip (my kid sis and I are the babies in the family!) and we were talking about the old days. Realised we'd not seen each other since I was at High School Will also work on the hubby. We might have to extend the trip to NZ too as we've got a v good friend who emigrated and we'd also talked about doing a bike tour there too as Hugh and his missus are bikers. Guess I'd better get shot of my L-plates asap and get a few miles under my belt in preparation! I'm not gonna comment on the move out permanently thing, we already left the UK to live in LA (albeit only intending to do a max 6 years on temp visa then come home) once and I'm surprised you didn't hear the lead balloon crashing down in the Southern Hemisphere when we told my folks and one of my bezzie m8s who absolutely won't entertain flying! Fortunately for those back home but not so fortunate for us hubby lost sed job after 19 months so we came back much earlier than planned I'll look at the links ta and start dreaming/planning. BTW Yoda, sorry m8 more proof I'm nuts after all, you win Thanks Gramme, mebbes we'll meet up in a coupla years! Cheers. Amanda
  21. Hiya Oh flip I can hear the bank manager groaning already We were already planning a road trip from Suffolk to Crete hopefully in 2009. Mebbes I'd better change our plans, my rellies aren't gettin any younger and my uncle is my godfather. (BTW dodgy typing I meant aunt & uncle in earlier post, doh) My geography's rubbish is Carlton VC anywhere near you? That's my boff (as in brainy) cousin's workplace Amanda
  22. Doh, ya missed out on Essex Air Ambulance Ride Out 2007!!
