  1. Sold my my bike (not through this site though) I think I have managed to correctly mark as ‘completed’ in the Classified section
  2. I guess you have done the basics Lolo, but practically if you have, you won’t have a weird starting problem, as it’s not magic! Have you paid any attention to the carb/mixture settings? Does it run particularly weak or rich? Plug condition/gap age of coil ht lead condition etc etc Good luck
  3. Thanks for raising the profile of the Classifieds guys, it has prompted me to list my SR125 on this site, as well as E-Bay
  4. This advert is COMPLETED!

Owned by me since 2017, but only running since 2022. Since then 3000 happy commuter miles whilst gaining my A License. Interesting shape, previous owner chopped the back to create a cafe racer/scrambler type look. I have added the seat hoop. Recent Work - New throttle cable - New Chain (didn’t replace sprockets as little sign of wear) - Seat Hoop - Carb Stripped & Cleaned - New inlet Manifold Rubber - Oil Change, plug, coil & Filters May 2023 Bike runs quite well, good for 50mph and 60mph on a good day. Next planned upgrade is a modern CDI (£100) which will allow her to consistently hit >60mph ! But at that point I will re advertise at accordingly higher price. Currently without MOT although I will MOT next week and adjust the price upwards in the add to reflect this. With some work and inclination plenty of improvements could be made to this bike and value addition into one of those flashy looking advertised Cafe Racers. Or do as I did, enjoy something with some character wh

  5. Yamamat, let me know how it goes, I also recently came across them and am tempted. I will be selling my SR soon, but rather it was running perfectly before I sell it, and this looks to be an interesting option
  6. In case it helps someone, you can get them repaired , but it’s expensive! https://www.carmoelectronics.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=493_4686_2129_2445
  7. Adding pictures is easy, on reply go to add files and follow the steps
  8. No progress on CDI unit, have had a couple of used ones through EBay which haven’t generated a spark at all. On the plus side Theory Test Passed and Module 1 booked for late June
  9. Just putting this back out there again. I’ve had 2 used ones from eBay which have resulted in no spark at all, so I’m back on the existing one which gives limited performance
  10. I have both a car and a bike with no fuel gauge. You quickly become good at working out how many miles you will do on a tank and adjusting it conservatively based on driving / riding style !
  11. If you can’t fix it with a hammer then it must be electrical! yes, previous owner did rather a hacksaw job on the frame, I can see what he was aiming for but craftsman he was not! current issue I have is CDI Unit. One unit and the bike will only tickle 50mph, the other it runs like a dream 60mph plus for about 12 miles, then misfires and conks out. I’m trying to find out if there is a modern workaround / new unit that can be made to work
  12. I see you have no relied Clive, did you make any progress? *replies
  13. Riding for about a year, owner of a fairly rough 1991 model and enjoying the trials of running a 30 year old small bike
  14. I have 2 CDI units for my Sr125, on the one unit the bike runs reliably but maxes out at 50mph and has poor acceleration. On the other Unit I will hit 60mph easily and acceleration is good, but after 12 miles misfires and becomes unrideable So, both units I believe are at fault. For the early unit 5HO-MO very few are available. For the later unit there are more on eBay. Q1 has anyone used a later unit on an earlier bike? Q2 has anyone found an alternative new manufactured CDI that will work well. thanks in advance for any replies Tom
