  1. In that case, your best bet is to pop into your local Yamaha dealer, they'll know... They probably won't even charge you anything for doing it (but don't quote me on that! lol).
  2. From what I can tell, turn your ignition on, hold down the select button...
  3. Ho! Ho! Bollocks! & a Happy Humbug to all!
  4. We call it Thread Necromancy: raising the dead! lol Maybe we should sit down some time and look at all the old, still open, threads...
  5. Hard jet washing is bad. Too many exposed or semi exposed bearings / joints to blast the grease out of! You can jet wash from a distance to get more of a 'soak' going, but be careful. There's all sorts of cleaning products out there, everyone will have a different opinion on them, you probably have to make your own choices... The big problem with cleaning bikes is all the interesting gaps & cubby holes that all the crap gets into. Young and bendy is the key to cleaning a bike well. When you get old and creaky like me, it gets a LOT harder lol.
  6. 1/ Not a clue, they don't appear to make one... 2/ As far as I can tell, if it's oily, it's ok, if it's not, it's bad... 3/ Yes, the pump WILL stop if you have the nozzle fully in the tank, however, since you're filling to almost the top of the tank you won't actually have the nozzle in the tank... So, no... 4/ Pro: Sounds good. Con: Could get you arrested...
  7. It's more about the tyre condition rather than the wear... Fork seals will leak if there's even a TINY piece of grit or damage, you can only really check them by wiping your finger down the stanchions... The MOT situation isn't great, look for flat spots on the tyres from where it's been sitting for God knows how long. Check what state the chain is in... Do you know the reg? If you let me know it, I can do the usual DVLA checks if you want.
  8. From what little I know about them (which isn't a lot), just the usual: Rust, make sure ALL the electrics work, make sure the suspension runs free. The usual bike stuff...
  9. Reduce some of that 'hype' and have fun! Treat everyone else on the roads as having a personal grudge against you!!! And remember, being paranoid, doesn't mean no one is out to get you! lol Give yourself a few months and then go get your Direct Access done, it should lower your Insurance quite a bit. Speaking of Insurance..: Have you already got your dragstar insured? If not, check down at the bottom of the forums, there's an insurance number to phone, you get a discount with them for being a full member here...
  10. Welcome in... Tell us about yourself and your bikes..!
  11. Box was collapsed for me. I got it to work eventually. Strangely, considering how many bikes there are in the US, I believe it's only California that allows filtering...
  12. I didn't have the heart to say anything myself... lol

I was thinking the same thing. edited...
  14. As in, I don't want anything, therefor I don't check it... On closer inspection, your advert is marked as completed. Unless you need a fast sale, you might want to consider a longer run period to allow people to see it and reply. I will ask Alex if he can add a notifier to the classified section, so we see when someone posts something new like we do for forum posts.

I can't help, but I'm sure someone will be along who has a clue before very long... On closer inspection... If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the main page, there's a link for a decoder. Yamaha Motorcycle VIN Decoder - Online VIN Check & Verifica - Yamaha Owners Club (yamahaclub.com)
  16. Alex is away at the moment I believe. I'm not actually sure how often the classifieds are used, I don't actually want anything... Sorry.
  17. With absolutely no previous experience, but from looking at my Ace, I'd say yes. But it's gonna be tight.
  18. As I stated on another post, I suspect the lack of picture linking/uploading is because you're on a Free account... Doesn't cost much per year and you get discounts for insurance.
  19. On closer inspection, I suspect it's because you're on a Free account... I have a 'drag files here to attach' option...
  20. Ok, so... I assume this is one of the Chinese ones you're talking about: Motorcycle Mikuni VM24 28mm Carburetor For Yamaha DT125 Motor Dirt Bike ATV | eBay Frankly, at that price, I see no reason not to try it out... Then of course, if you've got the money to blow, there's this: NOS spare parts Yamaha IT175: 1x carburetor carburetor - DT YZ MX 125 175 250 if necessary | eBay But get them to check the part numbers.
  21. Are you talking about the Cat or the DT? Cos if you're talking about the Cat, there's loads on E-Bay! I wish there were that many Ace carbs on E-Bay..!
