  1. Hi guys

So was out riding the other day came off the roundabout gave the old girl a little beens and pop engine died completly dead didnt even spultter so i tried to fire her up again all turned on fine flicked  on the starter motor its spins its nut off (like the engines running) ive started to strip the enigine

just wondering if anyones got any clues as to what could be the cause

    Many thanks

  2. So ive solved the issue a slight bend in the carb pin ive replaced it and shes puurring like a kitten :D but now i have another issue it seems like the clutch is stuck ill explain i can pull the clutch lever place her in gear (can cycle thru all gears) but when i release the clutch nothing  i think the clutch plates have stuck together maybe anyone got any ideas

  3. I even removed the air filter placed my hand over air intake and she dies so deffo dont think its a air leak could it be sonething broken in the engine so the piston is running freely with no resitance

  4. Didnt remove the manifold, hasnt been fuel starved, fuel flow is good and yea the fuel cap is venting fine its confusing the shit out of me why its climbing maybe its trying to idle very high possibly thats y it keeps climbing

My gasket on the exhaust needs doing but wouldnt have thought that could be a cause

  5. Hi guys

So she is all bk 2g4 having a little engine trouble the revs keep increasing on idle and wen i give some throttle the revs dont die bk down just revs higher and higher

The throttle isnt sticking niether is the slider in the carb any ideas

    Thanks for poping in

not sure mate, with imports you are subject to customs charge and if not pre paid, post office will charge £8 for collecting the money

Just checked online I would need to pay 20% vat and 3.7% custom charge so probably not a good idea as if probably need a wheel from across the pond too

  10. Cheers drewpy

Can get one off a 250 for same price do you know if it would fit I've done some research and looks like most of there parts are pretty much interchangeable but I'm not 100% sure on that and dont wanna pay postage from the States on sumit That dont fit

    Cheers peps

Looks to me like  a welded plate, so for what it's worth cut it off and take it to your local welder and get him to replace the plate with some nice shiny steel. Better still leave it on and get him to remove it and then he can see what needs to be replaced, yes by the way almost certainly structural.

I can replace it for £30 do you think it would be cheaper then the repair ?

Or I might get a 250 swing arm then I could fit a larger rear wheel on

  12. Evening guys

I've run into a little road block after starting work on the rear swing arm I've found some bad corrosion on the underside

I've was wondering if anyone would know if I could cut away the whole bottom panel or is it structurally integral and cheaper to replace then have repaired?
